Who needs a White Card?
You need a White Card if you are going to enter a construction site as a worker, subcontractor, labourer, apprentice, site supervisor, or if your job regularly takes you onto construction sites (for example, trades, maintenance and some inspection roles).
Can I do White Card training online in Victoria in 2026?
No—since January 2023, White Card Victoria must be face-to-face only because WorkSafe Victoria no longer allows online White Card training. You must also complete the White Card course in the state where you live.

What should I bring to White Card class?
You need to bring your original photo ID and a pen to your class.
What happens if I do not bring the correct ID?
We are legally required to verify your identity and study/work rights before issuing an assessment outcome or Statement of Attainment. If you do not bring acceptable ID, you may be unable to complete your course on the day and may need to rebook.
Do I need to bring my PPEs?
No, Origin Institute provides PPE (hard hat, earmuffs, goggles, hi-vis vest) for assessment—no need to buy your own.
How long will it take to get my White Card after training?
Receive a same-day digital Statement of Attainment (interim White Card) from Origin Institute to start work immediately for up to 60 days. Formal WorkSafe plastic card arrives in 2-3 weeks.
Can I start construction work right after the course?
Yes, you can use the same-day interim White Card until your plastic one arrives.
Does White Card expire?
No expiry, but refresh if out of construction for 2+ years.

Yes, nationally recognised across Australia.
