White Card Course & Training in Victoria


Origin Institute provides the Victorian construction induction training course, also known as the VIC white card training. It is a mandatory legal requirement for all persons involved in the construction industry.


Origin Institute is fully accredited by WorkSafe Victoria to deliver the white card training. You will receive a Victorian white card upon completion of this 1-day course.

The Victorian white card is nationally recognised, so you can work in any state in Australia.

Unit of Competency:

CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry

Enrolment Procedure:

  1. Complete booking online,

  2. Sign up for the Online Learning Platform (OLP) from the confirmation email,

  3. Complete enrolment form, ID upload and pre-assessment in OLP,

  4. Attend your class.

How to receive your white card:

  1. Complete white card course with Origin Institute,

  2. Receive a digital certificate (interim white card) from Origin Institute on the same day of course completion, so you can start working,

  3. Receive a formal white card from WorkSafe Victoria.

International Students:

Origin Institute is a CRICOS provider. Our white card course accepts international students as well. You must have a valid visa to study for this course. Origin Institute will conduct a Vevo check for all international students.

Age Requirement:

  • Minimum 16 years of age.

Valid Photo ID:

Rights to study in Australia:

  • If you are holding an overseas visa, you must be entitled to study in Australia under your visa.

English Skill:

  • Basic understanding of reading, writing and oral English.

Online Class Additional Requirements

WorkSafe VIC requires student must have a suitable learning environment:

  • Comfortable seat arrangement

  • no trip hazards,

  • proper access and egress,

  • no distracting or disruptive noises, and

  • access to water and refreshments

Have the necessary IT Equipment:

  • Internet connection,

  • a desktop, laptop, iPad or Android tablet equipped with a webcam, speaker and microphone (mobile phone is NOT a proper device), and

You have to prepare all PPEs:

If you can't get these PPEs by the course commencement date, as long as you complete all other assessments in your booked session, then we will arrange a later session to allow you to complete the PPE demonstration (subject to session availability).
