What will you learn in the CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry course:
This course provides you with the essential skills and knowledge to work in the building and construction industry as a carpenter.
Major areas of study include occupational health and safety, interpretation of plans and documents, measurements and calculations, use of hand and power tools, construct truss, pitched and complex roof systems, construct floor, wall and ceiling frames, erect scaffolding and work from heights, construct stairs, formwork and re-enforcement, install and replace windows and doors, wet out the building on site and more.
CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry
75 Weeks (4 study terms, including 10 weeks scheduled break)
Full time (at least 20 contact hours per week)
Face-to-face, work placement and online learning combined (maximum 20% online learning)
Theory, practical tasks and 360 hours work placement
Minimum 18 years of age at the time of application,
Minimum of 12 years of schooling or equivalent, and
Minimum IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.*
* Language test outcome must be less than 2 years old.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR STUDY
You will need to bring:
A computer installed with an appropriate costing software and word processing software, webcam and internet access
Printer or printing services
Camera with photo and video recording capabilities
Pen, pencils, markers, highlighters, colouring materials, eraser, ruler, onion skin paper
Personal safety PPEs (Steel Capped Boots, Gloves, Dusk Musks and Overalls).
Origin Institute will provide necessary simulation environment, materials and tools.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) AND CREDIT TRANSFER (CT)
Origin Institute ensures that RPL and CT is offered to all applicants on enrolment, through an RPL/CT eligibility assessment.
RPL candidates are to provide current, quality evidence of their competency against the relevant unit of competency. This process may be directed by the candidate and verified by the assessor, such as in the compilation of portfolios; or directed by the assessor, such as through observation of workplace performance and skills application, and oral and/or written assessment. Where the outcomes of this process indicate that the candidate is competent, structured training is not required.
