Can I do White Card training online?

Origin Institute was a WorkSafe Victoria approved training provider for online white card course delivery (Connected in Real-Time delivery) during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our online white card training provided flexible and safe training solutions to all Victorian students during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can do an online white card course with WorkSafe Victoria's approved provider before 2023. However, since 1 January 2023, the online white card training is no longer available in Victoria. What should I bring to my class?

You need to bring your original photo ID and pen to your class.

 

Do I need to bring my own PPEs?

If you do the training with Origin Institute, you don’t have to bring your own PPEs. You can use our trainer's PPEs during the assessment stage. However, you are welcome to bring your own PPEs if you want to. The PPEs for construction white card training assessments are hardhat, earmuffs, safety goggle and high-vis vest.

 

How long does it take to get my White Card?

Once you complete the construction white card training, we will issue a Statement of Attainment (SoA) to you on the same day. The SoA can be used as an interim White Card for up to 60 days until you receive the plastic White Card. Usually, it takes around 2-3 weeks to get your physical white card. We will also issue a digital interim white card, which can be saved on your mobile devices.

 

Can I start working with my certificate?

Yes, once you get the Statement of Attainment (SoA), you can start working immediately. We usually issue the SoA on the same day of your course completion.

 

How long will my White Card be valid for?

A formal construction white card has no expiry date. However, you need to attend another White Card training if you have left the industry for more than 2 consecutive years.

 

Can I use my Construction White Card in other states?

Yes, you can use it anywhere in Australia.

 

Do you provide Construction White Card training to international students?

Yes, we provide White Card training to international students. We are also a CRICOS provider (ID: 03819K) who provides many other construction courses to international students.

 

Can I transfer my old Red Card to a White Card?

Yes, we offer the Red Card to White Card transfer service. Simply complete an online red card to white card transfer application form.

 

What happens if I lose my White Card?

Please contact WorkSafe Victoria (1800 136 089) to order a new replacement card.

 

What do I learn from this White Card course?

The construction induction training (white card training) covers basic health and safety knowledge for working in the construction industry. The purpose of the white card training is to ensure all persons, who work in the construction industry, have basic occupational health and safety (OHS) knowledge so that the OHS risk in this industry can be reduced dramatically.

Yes, Origin Institute is a Registered Training Organisation. RTO ID: 45276. CRICOS Provider ID: 03819K. Origin Institute is also an accredited provider of construction white card training.

 

Are you accredited by WorkSafe Victoria?

Yes, we are fully accredited by WorkSafe Victoria for White Card face-to-face training. We are also accredited for official online white card training during the COVID-19 pandemic in Victoria.

 

Is your White Card suitable for an Owner-Builder application?

Yes, our White Card training is recognised by the Victoria Building Authority.

 

What should I complete before class?

All students need to complete the Enrolment Form, ID upload and Learning Competency Assessment before the class.

 

What is the Learning Competency Assessment (LCA)?

The LCA comprises of suitability assessment, language, literacy and numeracy test, and general instruction of our course. It allows us to identify any support needs the student may have.

 

Can I use my overseas driver’s licence?

No, we don’t accept any overseas driver’s licence as a valid form of photo ID.
